Mediation Workshop Series including Specialised Mediation Training in the Child Safety  Jurisdiction

Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 June 2022

Hobart Function and Convention Centre

The Mediation Workshop Series including Specialised Mediation Training in the Child Safety Jurisdiction will focus on mediating when it is identified that a child is at risk. Over the course of the program participants will become familiar with the AIFLAM model of facilitative mediation. Course content will also cover some elements of the National Mediation Accreditation Standards (NMAS).

Successful completion of this two day program will enable those participants keen to attain full accreditation as an AIFLAM NMAS Mediator to do a further 3 day course to complete the requirements for accreditation. If there is sufficient interest, AIFLAM will run a 3 day course for those participants. Alternatively, participants may complete days 3 – 5 of the AIFLAM NMAS Mediation Training Course which is currently scheduled for October 2022.

The course will be presented by Associate Professor Jill Howieson, Director of the University of WA Mediation Clinic. Judge Turnbull of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia will also assist with facilitation on Friday
